Made in Leeds is a city television station based in Leeds. Its broadcast patch covers over 3 million people across Leeds and West Yorkshire, including the surrounding areas of Wakefield, Dewsbury, Halifax and Huddersfield. Made in Leeds started broadcasting on Freeview channel 8 and Virgin Media channel 159 on 6 November 2014, and launched on Sky channel 117 on 24 November. According to its official viewing figures, the station is watched by over 264,000 people every week. == History == In May 2012, media regulator Ofcom extended the invitation for local operators in cities across the United Kingdom to operate a new local television service in their area.
